I have always been fascinated by Whitbread and racing around the world. If I had been born 10 years earlier I would have done all I could do to be a part of the Norwegian Berge Viking campaign in 1981-82.
When the Volvo 60 era begun it started to be too ‘hardcore’ and professional for me. I am really looking forward to work with the whole project, not only the race itself.
I also very much like the social aspect of the OGR, getting a group of friends together and sail around the world – what could be better!
